The VelociRAX 5 is a bike rack for hitches that holds up to five bikes and has 10-inch spacing between tire baskets. This rack size fits perfectly behind SUVs and can comfortably transport several bikes without exceeding the body of an SUV size car. This rack takes the stress out of loading a group of bikes, and kids can load bikes too! You can't beat a five-bike hitch rack the whole family can load that also leaves room to access the back of the car. Let your bike rack do the work so you can enjoy the ride! There is no need to lift bikes onto this rack when using the roll-in and roll-out loading method, which means kids can load their bikes! Integrated hydraulic dampers assist fully loaded racks when lowering to the load position, so don’t worry about bikes crashing down when lowering this rack. All VelociRAX also come with a garage wall mount that can be used to store this rack with bikes when the rack is not on a vehicle.

You can fully load this rack with flat handlebar bikes (like mountain bikes), but a drop handlebar bike (like a road bike) can fit on the far end if desired.

** Note - Check factory OEM hitch receivers on newer Subaru CrossTrek and Outback and Ford Ranger as they may lack sufficient depth on the factory hitch receiver.
- RVs/Trailers: you will need to have a Class III 2-inch hitch receiver with a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs at a minimum (bumper hitches, extension hitches, and hitches with cantilevered sections allow too much hitch movement and are inadequate). One item to check is if a ladder could possibly interfere with the rack. Trailers and RVs produce extreme forces on racks and bikes. Take extra care to strap tight and use rubber bands (or bike tubes cut in ~1 inch sections) placed on the brake levers to decrease natural motion between bike and rack and fully secure the VelociRAX's built-in anti-rattle system.
- As with any vertical rack low clearance vehicles hauling long wheelbase bikes need to be careful, especially when backing up.

We recently expanded our family to 5, which meant the regular bike racks weren't sufficient. After a few days of researching, reading reviews and figuring out the quality vs cost balance, we landed on the velociRAX 5. We felt we didn't need the Max. I'm glad we went with the 5 because it nicely fits behind the VW atlas with no over hang. Putting it together took roughly 2 hours. The paper directions mostly made since, but the YouTube model was clutch. You need quite a but of our own wrenchs in multiple sizes. Once it is set, it's easy to use. My inexperienced self can now load 5 bikes in minutes. The lowering system is great, but we load with it up because it can be really heavy to push up when it is loaded. It is also a 2 person job to remove it from your hitch. It has very little movement when driving, just the bikes wiggling a bit. I prefer this type of rack than any other for site lines both in the side mirrors (no obstruction) and rear view because you can see between the bikes. It arrived within the same week as purchase. I ordered it on Sunday and it was in my garage on Friday. Bikes were on it on Saturday.

The rack is extremely solid. We loaded up the rack with two 29”, one 27”, one 24”, and one 20” mountain bike. No issues whatsoever with rubbing/fit. I would definitely recommend using the supplied rubber brands around your brakes, as they eliminate any bounce on the road. I did end up going back and purchasing the floor stand (wish I would have included it in my first purchase to avoid paying for shipping twice!). Without the floor stand, the 5 bike rack was just too heavy to maneuver for 1 person.
