Fat tire baskets replace standard tire baskets and fit tires up to five inches wide. They come in a set of two and include mounting bolts, hardware, and four long tire straps. With this upgrade, VelociRAX hitch racks are the perfect bike rack for fat tire bikes and fat tire electric bikes up to 100 lbs. These can be used on any size of our MAX hitch racks, so anyone can run a fattie. Will hold 20-29" wheels with up to 5" wide tires. Only use fat tire baskets with fat tire bikes– they will NOT work with standard mountain bike tires. Standard tire baskets can carry tire widths 3 inches and smaller.
Tech Tip: When strapping down fat tires, pre-stretch straps before you pull across the rim. In cold weather, rubber straps may be harder to stretch due to a decrease in elasticity.Â
*Can be used on original (non-MAX) VelociRAX hitch racks, but the weight capacity is 55lbs when doing so. Do NOT load more than 55lbs per bike on the original VelociRAX.
